Why Is Philosophy Still Stuck in the Past?

From the tumultuous periods of the World Wars and the Industrial Revolution to the present day, human intellectual history has developed brilliantly, yet philosophy seems to remain rooted in the legacy of the past. Today, as the temperature of social conflict crosses a critical threshold, this essay questions why new philosophical insights that truly resonate with our times have not emerged.

Philosophy was actively debated during the turbulent times of World War I, the Industrial Revolution, and World War II. Numerous scholars, nurtured and inspired during those eras, built new philosophies upon the foundations of past Eastern and Western thought. However, in modern times, it seems that we are merely continuing to research those philosophies, with no new theories emerging thereafter.

While the world, in my opinion, may not be as chaotic as during the World Wars, I believe that the threshold for recognizing social problems has merely risen, and the temperature of political, religious, or interpersonal conflict has already far exceeded a boiling point. It just hasn’t fully surfaced. I personally believe that not regarding un-surfaced discord as discord is akin to the way gang or bullying issues among high school students, despite their real existence, are not recognized as problems simply because they are not outwardly manifested. No matter how much I think about it, I see a need for a philosophy that can offer incisive insights into humanity and society, and I feel disappointed that such a philosophy has yet to emerge. Of course, it’s possible that attempts are being made but no dominant theory has appeared, or perhaps I am simply unaware.

Optimal Timing and Strategy for Salary Negotiation with Senior Candidates
Salary negotiation is more than just an exchange of figures; it's a strategic dance of psychological timing. This analysis explores why engaging in a gradual negotiation process from the initial stages of recruitment, rather than waiting until after a final offer (when candidates tend to adopt a more calculative stance), proves more efficient for companies and fosters a more honest sharing of resources.
The Limits of the Rule of Law and Human Diversity
The belief that all human actions can be regulated by a single legal system may be an act of hubris. This article offers a sharp analysis of the paradox of the rule of law faced by humanity, which, having escaped the hierarchical controls of the Middle Ages, has now embraced infinite modern freedom. It further examines the deepening social coercion and the demonization of others that arise under the guise of diversity.
